Nissan Motorsport Reveal 2018 Liveries
The Nissan Motorsport team has released striking new liveries for the 2018 season. ACS have continued their partnership with the team for 2018 and will remain on the front headlights of both Michael Caruso’s #23 and Simona De Silvestro’s #78 Nissan Altima. De Silvestro will be continuing with backing from major sponsor, Harvey Norman, whilst Michael Caruso has introduced a new major sponsor with motoring website Drive.com.au joining the team.
The team has also completed pre-season testing with strong results from both car. Caruso debuted a new chassis (KR009) at the test and showed impressive pace, having topped the time sheets in the first session of the day and with consistent running was able to finish the final session in third place.
"The pre-season test was a really exciting day at the track. We welcomed drive.com.au to the team and we’re delighted with how the car looks.” says Caruso, “It's always a good sign when the car looks fast at a standstill. We also showed good consistent speed across the day. So these are the sort of tests that give the team added enthusiasm to head to the first round of the year."
Simona De Silvestro has spent much of the off-season training in Europe and completed the test whilst working alongside new engineer, Chris Stuckey. She quickly familiarised herself with the changes and completed the first session in 16th and the second session in 17th.
"The pre-season test was the first time I worked with my new engineer, so we spent a bit of time understanding how each of us works.” Explains De Silvestro, “After a full day at the track, I think we’re both pretty comfortable with each other. I feel like I know how the car is supposed to feel, so this test was much more demanding than this time last year. I’m looking forward to Adelaide, not being a rookie, and being closer to the front."
The first round of the season kicks off at the Adelaide 500 on March 1st.
