Xtreme Clutch Exhibit at World Time Attack 2018

Xtreme Clutch has recently exhibited its performance range at World Time Attack 2018, held at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 12th and 13th of October. The event, which is held once a year, is focused on some of the fastest racing cars in the country with several vehicles producing well in excess of 1000 hp along with significant aerodynamic packages. A wide range of these heavily modified production cars fight for the outright and class lap times around the circuit rather than wheel to wheel racing. Each year, teams from around the world bring their creations to the event to compete against the best from Australia.

Xtreme Clutch, the performance and racing division of Australian Clutch Services, exhibited at the event but was also a key supplier to some of the top teams competing including the Xtreme GTR driven by John Boston and the Integrated Motorsport R34 GTR of Matt Longhurst. These cars both run the Xtreme Clutch 184mm quad plate ceramic for excellent torque holding capability, heat capacity and throttle response. “We have been involved with a number of time attack vehicles over the years.” Says Australian Clutch Services Managing Director, Brenton Jordan, “It is amazing to see how far the category has evolved and we are now supplying our racing upgrade kits for some of the most powerful circuit cars in Australia.”

World Time Attack also included a drifting element with the Honeywell Garrett International Drifting Cup a highlight of the weekend. Xtreme Clutch was heavily involved with several of the top drift teams from around the country choosing Xtreme Clutch as their clutch supplier. The event attracted the attention of international drivers from Japan and Europe including Irish drivers and brothers, Conor and Jack Shanahan. Both drivers have a very successful background in the sport and currently compete in the British Drift Championship. This is made even more remarkable by the fact that Conor is just 15 years of age.

Xtreme Clutch supported both drivers to come out for the event with both cars using Xtreme Clutch upgrades designed specifically for drifting. “It was great to support these two young drivers for this event.” Says Brenton Jordan, “They are remarkable talents and it was interesting to see them up against some of the top drivers in Australia despite being in unfamiliar cars on a track they had very little practice on.”

The event was highly popular with car enthusiasts from around Australia and the world once again. “We are always amazed at not only the number of people that attend World Time Attack, but also where these people travel from to see this great event. Says Brenton Jordan, “There were enthusiasts from all around the world at the track again this year and we enjoy showcasing the Xtreme Clutch brand to this highly engaged crowd, especially given our current export program.”
