Tasmania V8’s Wrap-Up

The ClutchPro Nissan Altima’s of Michael Caruso and Dale Wood experienced a challenging race 5 at the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint with a throttle sensor issue forcing Wood to pit and lose several laps whilst Caruso struggled for pace in qualifying forcing him to start the race in 16th position. Caruso did, however, secure championship points after securing 11th position for the race.

"It was good to make spots in the race the way it panned out – with two safety cars and a lot of going on with cars spearing off in the sand traps. Towards the end I was surprised there was no safety car with 3 cars parked in the sand trap. We were hoping to stay out of the dramas and in the end we got some points. The good thing is this weekend is over for us and we can start focusing on Phillip lsland".

Caruso finished highest of the Nissan drivers after Rick Kelly, who was looking secure to finish the race in the top 5, suffered brake issues that forced the driver to retire from the race. This did however, show positive performance and left the team feeling motivated for the following rounds of the V8 Supercar Championship.
